Thank you for stopping by! I'm thrilled to share the happy home I've found in the whimsical world of poetry writing. My first book of poems was released in September 2022, ​Our ​Lives in Verse, Everyday Poetry, published by WestBow Press, a Division of Thomas Nelson and Zondervan. This lovely book is my contemplative observations about life, expressed with humor and aha moments of insight that connect with the reader. Great poetry book that you will find beautifully written. The words the author uses are colorful and imaginative and you are able to transcend into another world while reading them. When you are having a down day or just need a little pick me up, this is a great book to read.

I really enjoyed this short collection of poems. What I loved most was the variety. From seasons to family to everyday life. Very inspiring and well written.

Through Our Lives in Verse you will join me in appreciating that which is lovely, wholesome, and true to life, fulfilling the command found in Philippians 4:8 NASB:  Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Eddie Jones, former Acquisitions Editor and co-founder of Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas, once said I was a “message writer.” Indeed, that's true. Nothing thrills me more than to share a story, a message, and now a poem which reveals God’s love for us in our journey through the challenges and joys of living. Jones described my writing as "painting word pictures," and my deepest desire is to continue to share my passion for penning the descriptive phrase, now through poetry.

How I Began Writing

My writing adventure began soon after my husband of 37 years, Arie E. Greenleaf, died from cancer in 2004. My first book, Sorrow Answered, A Journey of Grace, was published in 2006, a hopeful presentation of God’s mercy on our grief. It's available as a Kindle version on Amazon.

In 2010 I published The Henderson County Curb Market, A Blue Ridge Heritage Since 1924. Because I have an abiding love for the old ways and the old days, it was an honor to write this book. Having the opportunity to present the history of our local farmer’s market was an adventure in nostalgia and admiration for the old timers who planted, harvested, baked, preserved, sewed and created items to be sold to an appreciative public, still true today.  This book received the Willie Parker Peace History Book Award from the North Carolina Society of Historians. I have also prepared a power point presentation about the history of the Curb Market, which will be 100 years old in 2024, and am available to share this inspirational history with others.

Hand of Mercy, A Story of God's Grace is my third book, published in 2015. It is the true account of an 80 year old gentleman, an atheist, who is hit by a car, his body so badly broken he dies twice. His son, Gene Andrews, shares his father's story of two terrifying dreams and the miracle of salvation when he clasps the merciful hand of the Lord Jesus Christ.
